Jackson Park

Nature_004Just returned from a relatively short bike ride through town.  I took a few photographs of the area around Court House Square including this one of Stonewall Jackson.  I much prefer this statue of Jackson as opposed to the Gold’s Gym version up at Manassas; it has just the right proportions and nicely captures Jackson’s prowess.  I would have taken some pictures of the Lee statue, but unfortunately a woman was relieving herself at the monument’s base.  Well, I guess we all have our way of showing our appreciation for the good general.  Additional photos can be found here.

I much prefer statues of ANDREW Jackson, as a rule. 🙂 🙂

My bad, thought this was monument row. Cant stop laughing from your post. “Oh the humanity”
I think most people take these monuments too seriously.

    Have a great day.

Richard, — These photographs were taken in Charlottesville and not Richmond. It makes the Lee reference that much more interesting. Yes, there are women urinating on Civil War statues right here in Charlottesville. Oh the humanity.

Enjoyed the photos. I was in Roanoke Rapids last week and had entertained the idea of going to Richmond to take photos of these monuments but I ran out of time. I think it would have been interesting to have a photo of the women pissing on the monument. Is Richmond like most big cities with crime and mentally ill people sleeping on the sidewalks?
