    I did my PhD at William and Mary and some of my fellow grad students worked at Colonial Williamsburg. A favorite lunch room conversation topic among the grad students was putting on some breeches and leading guerrilla tours of Colonial Williamsburg for credulous tourists. “On our right is the tavern. Few today realize that in addition to rum and beer, peyote was frequently enjoyed by 18th century gentlemen…” Of course none of us actually got around to doing any such thing.

    Glad you enjoyed this little clip. Working in the public history field, I can honestly say that some of this isn’t too far off the mark (“those knee socks are inappropriate”).
