Good grief, Kevin. I wasn’t talking about your comment. There is something going on here. A young drunk girl caught on video is espousing her view of history. I am struck by the fact that she is so combative, which may be in large part due to the alcohol, but could be a result of the fact she is a Southerner living in the North. I personally have a problem with the loss of privacy in our society, but this young woman should have thought about that before she got drunk in public. As always, thanks for the conversation. Have a good day. Sherree

Lighten up. It’s interesting that a topic would come up in such a setting. And as for me, I think it’s funny as hell.

What prompts a group of adults to analyze and ridicule a young drunk girl? Just asking.

Being from Alabama…but for the grace of the sweet, sweet Lord Jesus, I could have married a girl much like that. Instead mine cares about, of all things, long term health care and dietary needs associated with it.

My favorite part: “You know what, I live in effing Cherry Hill, New Jersy, I don’t want to hear this sh!%.” …Wow. It’s good to know that Lee’s drunken defenders are not confined to the Deep South. – TL

Would be interesting to talk to her sober. She has that much interest in history in that condition, she may not be parroting just what she was told by some one. And she did not slug the camera man LOL

Uh, yeah, bad topography, that was the problem!

Nothing gets people interested in history like local jingoism. “I’m from South Carolina” — lol.

Hey Karen, – Yes, but I think there is more going on here. She is no doubt correct that Lee did strike fear in many northerners and there is even a hint of the internalist explanation of Confederate defeat. With all the talk about how little we know about our history I see HOPE in this video. (LOL)
