Gods and Generals in Just Under Five Minutes

For those of you who have never seen the movie, Gods and Generals, here is your chance to view a slightly shorter version.  In just under five minutes you pretty much cover all the bases and the inclusion of theme music by Frank Wildhorn adds just the right touch.  Now, if you will excuse me, I need to finish balling my eyes out.

I watched it with the sound turned off (I am at work) – at home I will watch it with the sound.

But the five minutes without sound emphasised to me the “Biblicality” of the whole presentation – Jackson as an Old Testament character like Moses (with a dash of Joshua) in the early scenes, morphing into Christlike love of children, then his death, with resurrection as a new Moses at the end.

No bawling here. On the whole, it just made me want to puke.

Having seen Gods & Generals in the theater (three hours that seemed like eight), I prefer this shorter version. Thanks.

I think this calls for a round of Bleeprin.

Now, did you mean “bawling”, as in “crying my eyes out? Or “balling”, as in taking a melon baller to your eyes? Either way, it’s still pretty unbearable.

      Chris,

I meant the former, but I kind of like the visuals in the latter reference. 🙂
