The New Confederate Army Needs Your Help

I don’t know how many of you are aware of it, but The New Confederate Army is on the verge of bankruptcy unless they can raise $750 by the end of the week to pay at least one outstanding bill.  This video is truly hilarious.  The funniest line by far is the following: “I have been to everywhere that I know how to go, where I need to go.  And I can’t seem to find any you.”  It’s hard to believe that the survival of the Lost Cause hinges on a couple hundred dollars, but there you have it.

I have to say thank you to this blog, it has really done wonders for the New Confederate Army. Since this has been posted, over 200 have come to the Army’s website and looked at everything. To date I recieved 103 enlistment forms and a little over 200 e-mails, the majority telling me to keep my head up to keep up the fight. Of course there are those e-mails telling me what a “scum sucking traitor” I am, but I don’t pay any attention to those.

To Bear, I assume you never learned in school, that Arizona was a Confederate Territory from 1861 to 1863. That and the Fact, that I have Confederate Ancestory from the Confederate State of North Carolina. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was in the North Carolina Confederate Army; he was Jewish, by the way.

Glad I could help and best of luck with the cause. Let’s just hope your new recruits don’t have to sacrifice their marriages in the process. The world of Civil War memory is a much more interesting place with you in it.

This might be hilarious to not only the editor of this website, but to others who do not want the CSA liberated. But to me and other real Southerners that really want to liberate our country, it is important. Just to let you know, I got the money. I paid the bills, with no help from any of you.

To answer Andy Hall, yes it did cost me everything including my marriage. Mr. Hall may laugh at the thought of my Army, but at least I am doing something. Not just sitting like a slug complaing about the situation, but really doing something.

So make fun of me, try and belittle me. All you are doing is helping the enemies of freedom destroy you even further. In short, you are helping the hangman build the gallows you will be hanged on.

      Thanks for the update, Chuck.

Hold it a minute. Are you trying to say there are “real” Southerners? That are trying to “liberate” their country? Does that make everyone else in the South that disagrees with you an unreal Southerner? Or not a Southerner?
I think you’re missing most of the entire point why the South seceded. In case you didn’t know, the lower South seceded to defend the right of people to own slaves. That right wasn’t being challenged by the federal government. Furthermore, the states that attempted to secede had no legal basis to do so. Then they attacked federal property in the secession bid. So you can’t liberate what was independent or at least wasn’t independent since 1789 when those states ratified the Constitution and joined the United States in the case of four of them. The rest of them were never independent states. I will however say that Texas was an independent nation, but it chose to join the United States. So again, your idea of liberation is off base as is your definition of what a real Southerner is.

        Hi Jim,

I am not sure it is really worth engaging this individual directly.

Charles is not a southerner, nor from the south! Born and raised in Arizona!!!!
Commanding General? of what? You never put in time with any service.

I just checked this YouTube page. He’s still around and producing videos. I guess he found the money.

    • Scott MacKenzie Nov 2, 2011 @ 4:03

I take that back. In later videos he demands – no lie – even more money, up to $3,000. He’s also deeply frustrated and angry over the lack of support from his so-called followers.

This is surreal. Besides the website, he listed another expense: he has to pay the Southern States to register. What the what?

He is the 99%… of thinly veiled white supremacists.

When in Andersonville, Georgia last May I saw that Henry Wirz’s old office was “For Sale.” The condition of the sign hinted at a lot of weather since it was posted.
I couldn’t help but think that this was a statement of sorts—seems to me that at one time those who put up that honking-big monument to him out front in the middle of the road would have bought it to preserve it.

(And, if anyone would like a picture of it, I’d be happy to email you one.)

I posted a link to the video to a FB civil war discussion page.
the NEO-CON response has been less than supportive..
I imagine this General Whatsisname now has more empathy for the trials of Jeff Davis and R.E.Lee. but they did admire his sacrificing his marriage and personal life to “The Cause”.

  • Scott A. MacKenzie Oct 26, 2011 @ 12:25

It seems obvious that the New Confederate Army was “compelled to yield to underwhelming numbers and resources.”

    I kill me.

    • Kevin Levin Oct 26, 2011 @ 12:26

Oh, that was a good one, Scott. 🙂

  • Chris L. Robinson Oct 26, 2011 @ 11:56

Dangit! I am NOT willing to let this guy leave the Southron movement over $752! I won’t do it! And that is why, right now, today(!), I am sending him a cashier’s check from which he may take $5,000–similar to the one sent to me by a Nigerian gentleman on just yesterday. That’s right! I am putting my money where my mouth is–firmly on the cheeks of the New Confederacy!

The cashier’s check is for $15,000 and drawn on the finest bank in Uzbeki-beki-beki-stan-stan! He need only deposit it in his bank and send me back the $10,000 difference!

Oh, friends! Will you not do all that you can? Will you not send him your hoarded Confederate dollars?! Your Iraqi bank notes?! Your wooden nickels?! I beseech you!

  • Boyd Harris Oct 26, 2011 @ 11:11

Sounds like the New Confederate Army has some of the same problems as the old Confederate Army. I wonder if the New Confederate Congress also sits around eating peanuts and chewing tobacco.

  • Chris L. Robinson Oct 26, 2011 @ 11:00

300 foot General Lee has told him that if can’t raise $750 by the end of the week, he’s going to call the New Confederate Army home.

  • Larry Cebula Oct 26, 2011 @ 10:49

    What a poor sad man.

Hey wait a minute–isn’t that Herman Cain’s campaign manager?!

I can’t laugh at the guy. It’s really sort of sad, it seems he’s imploded his life (“it’s cost me my marriage”) over his vanity heritage group. I’ve never heard of the “New Confederate Army,” so I’d be curious to know what its expenses actually are. The website offers no specifics about what they do; it’s mainly a bunch of policy statements and declarations. Web hosting is cheap, and given that the NCA’s output mainly seems to be YouTube videos of Goodson voicing his opinion on various topics, he might do better to just start blogging.

    • Kevin Levin Oct 26, 2011 @ 10:15

      Andy,

You are too nice of a guy. My guess is that his failed marriage goes beyond the amount of time spent mobilizing the New Confederate Army, which as far as I can tell includes two people.

    • Corey Meyer Oct 27, 2011 @ 8:42

      Andy,

That would be General Goodson…to you sir!
