What Budweiser Does to Civil War Memory

This little rant starts out over the controversy in Georgia surrounding the sale of SCV vanity license plates, but quickly blossoms into a full-blown interpretation of the Civil War era and Civil War memory. A perfect way to start your day. Let this be a lesson to you, DON’T DRINK AND CIVIL WAR MEMORY.

It’s like a homebrewed version of Drunk History.

Needs to get out of his parents basement, get a job, lose some weight, find a girlfriend. Also, don’t depend on the BS that comes from the un-American,unpatriotic SCV for your history.

I think you are being too hard on him. 🙂

        Nope…

I’ll chip in a buck to buy him a subscription (or is it a membership?) to OK Cupid. Anyone with me on this?

On behalf of the Upper Midwest, I want to say, this is clearly someone who has been snowed in way too long. OMG. Beer, it’s not just for breakfast anymore. Not his first beer? I’d say it wasn’t his first case of the day. I’m so glad this guy can clearly read the minds of those Southern good old boys and fellow travelers. I have a bridge and some swamp land I want to sell him.

Wearing a Coors t-shirt while downing Buds!? I can’t get over that!

He’s a man of the world, LOL.

That was just too funny. That quite obviously wasn’t his first can of beer of the day. I’d say he’s killed off enough brain cells by now. I can just imagine an old TV Guide description of this: “A guy mixes beer with a skewed idea of history. Hilarity ensues.”

I love the pauses. Best line: “The only anchor they have is Texas, but that ain’t big enough to keep the whole son’ bitch up.”

Funny that he said he “went off” on the Sons of Confederate Veterans some time before this video. Based on the views he expresses here, he will be a card-carrying Confederate apologist in a year or two.

I don’t know. He seems pretty much set on moving beyond the Civil War entirely. 🙂

“I don’t know. He seems pretty much set on moving beyond the Civil War entirely.”

But if he’s so set on moving on from the war, why does he keep rubbernecking back to it? Many other people heard and saw the same stories he heard, yet they haven’t blogged a video telling everybody to “EFF-ING get the EFF over it!”

“…why does he keep rubbernecking back to it?”

          It’s called alcohol. 🙂

I showed this video to my wife this morning. She said she expected at any moment his mom was going to yell down from upstairs not to be so loud and to watch his language.

The guy is hilarious. I can only hope that he makes more videos on Civil War topics.

Great morning laugh! Perfect example of how a little knowledge and a lot of beer can be a dangerous thing.

Exactly. I like the way he blended a bit of the Lost Cause and neo-Revisionist school.
