Fellow blogger and historian Keith Harris passed along this gem last week. This 1970s faux game show was created by Bernard Wilets and pits Grant against Lee as they debate the central issues of the war and their roles in it. It is well worth watching.

  1. I wish we could return to this sort of reenactment of Cold Harbor in which miniskirted young women strike dance poses on parapets. The Civil War was so much sexier back then.

  2. That’s James Gammon playing Grant. He also played Grant in the Gore Vidal’s Lincoln miniseries, where Sam Waterston played Lincoln. I kept waiting for him to do this to Virginia’s secession ordinance. 😉
