I just finished “Field of Blood” Interesting thesis, and vivid read.

Joanne Freeman had an article in this past Sunday’s New York Times Opinion section, https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/07/opinion/sunday/violence-politics-congress.html, that has whetted my appetite.

What have you heard about the Freehling book, if anything. His writing style gives me pause.

I know what you mean re: his writing style, but what I have read so far is pretty good. He’s been working on this one for quite a while.
