Your welcome Tody. I am definitely going to use this clip in my Civil War Memory course next semester. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch much of the Hughes series when it originally aired.
Thanks you for posting this, which I enjoyed on TV some years ago.
Hughes is probably the best art critic around today … his series on modern art “The shock of the new” is worth watching.
If you are interesed in general history, Hughes’ history of Early Australia (the white settlements, that is) called “The Fatal Shore” is a good read.
