This is one of my all-time favorite Western fight scenes. You just gotta love Jack Palance as “Jack Wilson” in the movie, Shane (1953). I know this is no way to mark the day that Stonewall Jackson died on May 10, 1863, but you can just attribute it to the fact that I am a “low down lying Yankee.”

"In this stunning and well-researched book, Kevin Levin catches the new waves of the study of memory, black soldiers, and the darker underside of the Civil War as well as anyone has... Levin is both superb scholar and public historian, showing us a piece of the real war that does now get into the books, as well as into site interpretation."

Kevin you seem to enjoy stirring the Pot. Those poor SCV guys will lock up the net trying to post here.
He enjoys tumping it over, actually.
You gotta wonder just how many angry, spittle-flecked e-mails the dude gets. I think he lets through a token one here every now and then just for entertainment’s sake.
Actually, I don’t think most of what I say is really that controversial. It is for that very small vocal group that believes that I am somehow engaged in a war against all things southern/Confederate. It’s simple nonsense and I’ve addressed the faulty assumptions in these arguments.
O.K., as a Raiders fan I just have to ask……Lane Kiffin? Really?
NO Bob it is just the Blog name I picked.
Speaking of Southern memory, “Lane Kiffin” is not a name I’d use in East Tennessee anyway.
